Technical information

Existing medium-voltage plants – ring main units have two or more line bays equipped with switch disconnectors and one or two transformer bays with switches and corresponding protective devices or switch disconnectors. Within the low-voltage plants – ring main units, which are located within the semi-buried substations, multifunctional measuring devices manufactured by Schneider Electric are provided, which are installed on the low-voltage side of the substation in the transformer bay. The measuring devices have a serial port RS-485 with MODBUS protocol support, which is used for connection to the corresponding port at the remote station for their integration into the remote monitoring and control system.

The substation is located in a densely populated part of the city where it provides better electricity supply. It reduces power supply problems.

Technical information

MO 1, MO 2 and MO 4 polyester cabinets were installed on the poles in the low-voltage network.

New electrical meters with DLMS protocol, new feeder cables and new cables to consumer facilities were installed.

This project covered about 5000 consumers.

Social and economic interest

The grounds for implementation of this project refers to heavy floods that compromised regular electricity supply to consumers. At the same time, EPS’s long-term plan was implemented – moving electrical meters to public surfaces for the purpose of unhindered access to make readings, etc.

Over 150 km of low-voltage network, 100 km of 10 kV power lines, 55 distribution substations, 5000 relocated measuring points and over 2000 household connections were made, which contributed to the improvement of voltage conditions in the distribution networks and the reduction of losses.

• The existing line disconnector was disassembled and a new remote-controlled load break switch for outdoor mounting was installed

• Appropriate telecommunication equipment (radio station, antenna, etc.) for communication with the superior dispatch centre was also installed
