Self-consumption in Đerdap 2 HEPP
Electric Power Plants · “Đerdap 2 HEPP”, Kusjak, near Negotin · 2017 – 2017
The self-consumption project in Đerdap 2 HEPP was carried out in 2017 at Kusjak, near Negotin, under investor EPS, Djerdap HEPP Branch, Kladovo. It included delivery and installation of a container diesel generator, with 1250 kVA (1000 kW) power, for 6.3 kV voltage, manufactured by SDMO, and expansion of the self-consumption switchgear in an auxiliary power plant.
Diesel generator connection to the power plant’s self-consumption was made by means of a newly designed 6.3 kV three-cubicle generator switchgear manufactured by Schneider Electric (diesel generator connection cubicle, cubicle for diesel generator outgoing feeder connection to the auxiliary power plant and a spare cubicle for connecting any potential load-bank, housed in the diesel generator container which is provided for that particular purpose). The incoming generator connection was made via two new 6.3 kV cubicles in the auxiliary power plant, whose existing self-consumption was expanded by busbar extension.
As self-consumption power plants at the main and auxiliary power plants are vital for the operation of the entire power plant in order to prevent accidents, an additional source of independent power supply for self-consumption of “Đerdap 2 HEPP” was installed in the event that a power outage occurs. In case of an accident, the generator can power the entire plant for 72 hours.
Safer operation of the power plant, important for the stability of the electric power system and electricity generation.
