ELEKTROMONTAŽA was established in 1963 as a specialized company within the state-owned Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), solely tasked with installation and maintenance of the electric power distribution infrastructure.
We operated as such until 2005, having built 25% of our parent company’s infrastructure, amounting to thousands of kilometers of power lines and hundreds of power substations.
The period from 2005 to 2011 marked the transition phase for Elektromontaža as we successfully managed to carry out our work in the tough market environment, while changing the ownership model from a state-owned enterprise to a market-oriented private company.
Upon completion of the privatization process in 2012, we became members of the Roaming Group, adding value to the portfolio of companies primarily operating in the field of telecommunications, ICT and consumer electronics distribution, with a vast presence in the regional market, and recent expansion of activities onto the EU.
The founding of Elektromontaža in 1963. As part of Elektrosrbija (owned by Power Industry of Serbia (EPS)), our company started riding the post-war industrial wave and building electric power infrastructure all over Serbia.
Elektromontaža is active in bringing power to rural areas of Serbia and building electric power capacities in open-pit mines in southwestern Serbia (RTB Bor). The in-house production of hardware equipment started as well, such as steel lattice poles for transmission lines.
Elektromontaža’s activities continued to spread around Serbia, including Vojvodina in the north, while maintaining and strengthening the T&D network in southwestern Serbia. Intensive works were carried out in the open-pit mine Majdanpek and in electrifying new industrial facility for tire production in Kruševac (Trayal factory).
The turbulent 1990s were challenging for the entire region, and our company braved through them by maintaining the existing electric power infrastructure, while installing new power lines and connections in Kopaonik ski center and the open-pit mine basin Kolubara.
The bombing of Serbia in 2000 devastated the Serbian electric power system. Elektromontaža was intensely engaged in revitalizing the T&D network and power supply facilities, and, as many state-owned companies did, we stepped into the transition period and the search for a new owner.
The privatization process was successfully completed in 2012. Elektromontaža becomes part of the Roaming Group and, with the support of its new owner, consolidates business operations and breaks into new markets, such as Norway and Austria. With fresh energy and vitality and half a century of experience under the belt, Elektromontaža is looking forward to the future.
